the quintessential magazine...
For Sydney-siders, the fashion boutique duckeggBLUE (established 2003) and it's sister store quintessential duckeggBLUE (established 2008), selling 'found industrial and antique objects,' just four doors away, are something of an institution. Back in November 2012, the entrepreneurial owner and curator, Leanne Carter-Taylor, having decided she could do more (!), launched the quintessential duckeggBLUE e-zine. Working alongside Leanne to bring her vision to life, is editor and creative director Tracy Lines and what can only be described as a super-stellar team of stylists, writers and photographers.
Aimed as a natural progression from Leanne's stores and with an undeniable connection to her ethos of breathing life back into the old, unused and pre-loved, the bi-monthly e-zine is not only a truly visual feast for the eyes, but also a stimulating and informative read. Regular features include 'Need To Know' or FYI on anything and everything vintage; 'Meet The Maker',(which this edition features London's very own acclaimed florist Nikki Tibbles of Wild at Heart); 'Looking For;' 'Behind The Scenes' and sublime story telling from Karen McCartney. The other-worldly shots that are the 'The Portrait of a Flower,' were taken by super-talented photographer Sharyn Cairns.
What really counts to Leanne and Tracy is the provenance of everything they feature in the magazine, combining beautiful photography, styling, writing, interactive features and even videos.
The fifth issue of The Quintessential Magazine is now live and as the old saying goes, it just gets better and better...
